Just A Touch of Blackness In Upcoming Movie

A couple of pics of Black Lightning from the upcoming direct to video animated movie Superman Batman Public Enemies. I'm not too fond of the mask. The character will be voiced by Levar Burton. Oh and I don't want to forget to mention Amanda Waller who will be voiced by CCH Pounder. Neither one of them made the trailer but you can catch a glimpse of them in the First Look video if you look real close:

Looks good. I think that Black Lightning SHOULD be able to fly, in the comics. He'll never be taken seriously unless he's shown to be a real powerhouse. In addition to flying, and shooting lightning from his hands, I'd also give him the power to shoot lightning from his eyes, and to create lightning-based force-fields.

I've seen him do the force field thing but never fly or shoot lightning from his eyes. Maybe a writer will read this and we'll see it. One can only hope.

since we're changing black lightning's powers (LOL), he should just turn INTO electricity. that would give him the power to fly, travel through (and maybe control) circuitry, and shoot lightning from anywhere he wanted (including his eyes). now, everybody's happy!
LOL!

he could be transformed into an elemental (like Swamp Thing or Firestorm) with massive power that comes from the earth. i'd read that book... hell, i'd DRAW that book!

That wouldn't be too bad, in my opinion. It's better than the original version, where he didn't even have any real powers, just used some kind of electric belt to create lightning.

in Black Lightning:Year One (which i recommend) he was a mutant that generated lightning naturally. the belt just helped him control his powers. i'm not sure if that's how they were originally or if that was retconned in.

It would be nice if he was a kind of electricity elemental but then he'd be too alien to become one of the big 5. I'd like him to become one of the first five characters you'd consider for the Justice League. Right now he's still a character that DC could actually kill off.

Well, for the whole "elemental" thing in the JLA, they've already got the new Firestorm, who should fill that role, if they use him probably.

PS I wish y'all would get rid of the word verification function on this blog. It's annoying.
